DDA launches online FAQs to explain Delhi Master Plan 2047

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched a new online resource to improve public understanding of the Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD-2047), a key policy framework guiding the city’s development over the next two decades. The initiative follows guidance from Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who also serves as Chairperson of the DDA, to make the plan more transparent and accessible.

On August 30, 2026, the DDA published a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on its official website, offering clear explanations of MPD-2047’s various components. The resource is designed to help residents, landowners, developers, and other stakeholders navigate complex planning provisions with ease. The FAQs cover a range of topics including development control norms, land pooling, transit-oriented development (TOD), heritage conservation, and slum rehabilitation.

The FAQs provide straightforward answers on land use regulations, permissible activities, floor area ratios (FAR), plot requirements, parking norms, and transferable development rights (TDR). They also detail eligibility criteria, development models, and approval processes under policies like TOD, Land Pooling, and In-situ Slum Rehabilitation. By simplifying these technical aspects, the DDA aims to encourage greater public participation in shaping Delhi’s urban future.

In addition to the FAQs, the DDA has introduced a dedicated feedback portal called “MPD-2047 (Feedback)” on its Citizen Services platform. This allows residents and stakeholders to submit suggestions directly to the authority, fostering an ongoing dialogue around the master plan. The move supports a more inclusive and participatory approach to urban planning in Delhi.

These digital efforts complement the DDA’s ongoing three-month stakeholder engagement program, which includes 20 meetings across various themes of MPD-2047. The program brings together elected officials, government agencies, industry leaders, architects, residents’ associations, farmers, and landowners to discuss and refine the plan’s implementation.

By combining accessible information with public feedback tools, the DDA is working to ensure that MPD-2047 reflects the needs and aspirations of Delhi’s diverse communities.
