When an organisation deviates from its values, faith of those associated with its ideology is shattered: Kaushal Kishore

Former Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kaushal Kishore suggested on September 1, 2026, that organizations risk losing public trust when they stray from their founding principles. In a post on X, Kishore stated that deviation from core values ultimately leads an organization back to its starting point while shattering the faith of those who once supported its ideology.

“When any organisation or movement deviates from its values, it ends up back where it started, and the faith of those associated with its ideology is also shattered,” Kishore wrote. “Therefore, one should not deviate from its values.” The remark followed a cryptic earlier post in which he quoted a friend as saying, “The ball has gone as high as it could go and it is coming down,” warning that its descent would accelerate and “no one can reduce the speed of the ball falling.”

Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu, former Uttar Pradesh Congress president, responded by interpreting Kishore’s “ball coming down” metaphor as a sign of impending electoral setbacks for the BJP in upcoming state assembly polls. Speaking to The Hindu in Lucknow, Lallu said Kishore’s comments reflected growing public dissatisfaction over inflation, unemployment, farm distress, youth concerns, economic pressures, and broader questions about governance.

“Kaushal Kishore ji did not take anyone’s name, but the hint is so clear,” Lallu said. “The ball that was continuously thrown upward over the past few years with slogans of development, Vishwaguru, Amrit Kaal and a strong government has now started coming down.” He added that the metaphor extended beyond a single symbol, asserting that the broader political landscape was shifting and that voters had already made their decision.

Kishore, a former Union Minister of State, has not publicly linked his remarks to any specific policy or election timeline. His statements come amid rising opposition criticism of the BJP-led central government’s performance across key sectors. Congress leaders have consistently highlighted economic challenges, job scarcity, and agricultural issues as central themes in their campaign messaging ahead of state elections.

The exchange underscores the growing debate over governance, public trust, and ideological consistency within India’s dominant political parties as national and state-level elections approach.
