Harlequins Sign Zimbabwe Winger Edward Sigauke for 2024 Season

English Premiership rugby club Harlequins has completed the signing of Zimbabwe international winger Edward Sigauke. The 22-year-old back joins the London-based side ahead of the upcoming domestic season, bolstering the team's wide options with international experience and attacking threat.

Sigauke arrives in Premiership Rugby with a strong scoring record on the international stage. Since making his test debut for Zimbabwe in 2024, the winger has earned 12 caps for his country and scored eight tries. He played a central role in Zimbabwe's international campaign in July, starting all three of the national team's Nations Cup fixtures on the left wing.

Harlequins head coach Jason Gilmore confirmed that the club had been monitoring Sigauke for an extended period before finalizing the contract. Gilmore highlighted the player's core attributes, stating that his speed and footwork make him a difficult prospect for opposition defensive lines. The head coach expressed confidence that Sigauke possesses the raw physical and technical qualities required to develop into a primary attacking option out wide.
