New Apple TV 4K Expected to Debut With Upgraded Hardware and AI Features

Apple is poised to unveil a long-awaited update to its Apple TV 4K streaming device, with industry reports suggesting a possible announcement at the company’s September 9 event. The new model is expected to introduce several hardware and software enhancements, including an upgraded processor and advanced AI capabilities.

One of the most anticipated changes is the inclusion of a revised Siri Remote. While specific details remain unconfirmed, recent code discovered in a macOS 26.7 beta version appears to reference the new accessory. Earlier reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had also hinted at a “tweaked” remote design. The updates may include a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip to improve Precision Finding functionality.

A major focus of the new Apple TV 4K will likely be the integration of Siri AI, Apple’s advanced artificial intelligence system. Though the company has not officially confirmed its inclusion, evidence in tvOS 27 beta versions suggests the feature will be exclusive to new hardware. Additional Apple Intelligence features, such as an enhanced search experience, may also be introduced.

Performance improvements are expected with a new A-class chip, replacing the A15 Bionic currently used in the Apple TV 4K. Initial rumors suggested an A17 Pro or A18 chip, but given the emphasis on AI, a more powerful A19 or A20 processor could be included. The upgrade would provide a significant boost in processing power and enable on-device AI functionality.

Connectivity is also set to improve with the addition of the N1 wireless chip, previously introduced in the iPhone 17. The new chip would bring Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support, along with Thread networking capabilities. The current Apple TV 4K, released four years ago, only supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.

No official details have been provided by Apple regarding the new Apple TV 4K or its features. The company’s September 9 event is widely expected to focus on new iPhone models, but the streaming device could also be announced alongside other hardware updates.
