Apple Unveils Updated Mac Mini and Mac Studio Ahead of iPhone 15 Event

Apple has refreshed two key desktop models in its Mac lineup, introducing updated versions of the Mac mini and Mac Studio. The announcements come as the company prepares for its annual iPhone launch event, which is expected to take place in September.

The new Mac mini retains its compact design but now features Apple’s M2 and M2 Pro chips, replacing the previous M1 and M1 Pro processors. The base model with the M2 chip starts at the same price as the previous generation, while configurations with the M2 Pro chip offer improved performance for professional users. The updated Mac mini supports up to three external displays, including one 8K monitor, and includes enhanced connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The Mac Studio, Apple’s high-end desktop workstation, has also been updated with the M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra chips. The M2 Ultra, which Apple describes as its most powerful chip to date, doubles the performance of the M1 Ultra in certain tasks. The Mac Studio now supports up to six Pro Display XDR monitors and includes faster I/O capabilities, including Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 10Gb Ethernet option.

Both devices are available for order immediately, with shipping expected to begin later this month.

Apple Confirms September iPhone Event

Apple has officially sent out invitations for its upcoming iPhone event, confirming long-standing rumors about a September launch.
