Nottingham Forest in £25m talks to sign Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz
Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz for up to £25m before the transfer deadline.

Nottingham Forest are in advanced negotiations with Crystal Palace for the £25 million acquisition of Colombian full-back Daniel Muñoz, aligning with manager Oliver Glasner’s ongoing rebuild at the City Ground.
Forest, under Glasner’s leadership, have prioritized strengthening their defensive options as the summer transfer window enters its final stretch. The potential deal comes amid accelerating talks between the two clubs, following Palace’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City last Friday. According to insider reports, terms are now close to being finalized, with an agreement expected before Tuesday’s deadline.
Munoz, 30, joined Crystal Palace from Belgian side Genk in January 2024 and has since become a vital figure in their backline. He played a key role in Palace’s historic FA Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League triumphs under Glasner, contributing both defensively and in attack. With just 23 months remaining on his current contract, Palace have indicated a willingness to sell the defender to avoid losing him for free next summer.
Forest’s interest in the Colombia international reflects Glasner’s preference for experienced, technically sound full-backs—traits he honed during his tenure at Selhurst Park. If completed, the move would mark Forest’s second major defensive acquisition this window, following the signing of Swiss international Silvan Widmer.
At Selhurst Park, the deal could pave the way for another summer arrival: Anan Khalaili, signed from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, is expected to step into the right-back role vacated by Munoz. The 24-year-old Israeli has already been integrated into Pierre Sage’s squad.
Should the transfer proceed, Muñoz will reunite with Glasner, who has expressed confidence in the defender’s Premier League adaptability. Forest, meanwhile, aim to solidify their defensive depth before the Premier League resumes.
