‘They should listen to Mohan Bhagwat’: CJP's Abhijeet Dipke says BJP in power because of RSS

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-founder Abhijeet Dipke has urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to heed the counsel of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, suggesting that the ruling party’s recent rhetoric contradicts the Sangh’s emphasis on inclusivity.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Dipke criticized the BJP for what he described as a growing disconnect with the RSS, despite the latter’s role in the party’s sustained political dominance. “After being in power for 12 years and having so many agencies under its control, the BJP seems to believe it has grown bigger than the RSS,” Dipke said, as quoted by PTI. He highlighted Bhagwat’s recent remarks in New York, where the RSS chief asserted that those who believe India should exclude Muslims cannot remain Hindu. Dipke argued that Bhagwat’s call for unity is being ignored by the BJP leadership.

The CJP leader also pointed to a discrepancy between Bhagwat’s inclusive stance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s use of terms like “Dimagi Naxal” to describe young protesters. “Mohan Bhagwat has spoken about not calling Gen Z anti-nationals, but the PM uses such words. This doesn’t reflect well,” Dipke stated. He emphasized that Bhagwat, as the BJP’s ideological mentor, should be listened to more closely, especially given the RSS’s foundational role in the party’s rise to power.

Addressing criticism from activist Sonam Wangchuk, who suggested in a YouTube interview that CJP leaders may harbor political ambitions, Dipke defended the organization’s integrity. He clarified that Wangchuk had praised the CJP’s leadership for honesty and competence while acknowledging that no one can predict future actions. “Even I can’t guarantee what someone might do tomorrow,” Dipke said, urging caution against blind faith in any leader.

Wangchuk, who staged a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar alongside CJP members, had earlier stated that political ambition is not inherently wrong. Dipke echoed this sentiment, asserting that the CJP’s protests against alleged NEET exam irregularities were driven by genuine grievances rather than personal political motives.

The debate underscores tensions between the BJP’s electoral strategies and the RSS’s ideological framework, particularly on issues of national identity and inclusivity. As the ruling party continues to navigate public perception amid ongoing protests, the call from Dipke reflects broader concerns about aligning governance with the Sangh’s stated values.
